A Message from the Ambassador of His Majesty the King of Morocco to Canada

Dear Professors, Researchers, and Fellow Moroccans,
It is with great pride that I welcome the creation of the Canadian Association of Moroccan Professors and Researchers (CAMPR) / Association canadienne des professeurs et chercheurs marocains (ACPCM). This initiative is a remarkable reflection of the excellence, dynamism, and patriotism of the Moroccan scientific community established in Canada.
Under the High and Visionary Leadership of Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, the Kingdom of Morocco has, in recent years, achieved an unprecedented level of international influence. Strengthened by its political stability and its rich millennial identity and culture, our country has emerged as an indispensable strategic actor on the global stage. Whether through its diplomatic leadership in Africa, its pioneering role in the development of future-oriented energy solutions, or its world-class industrial infrastructure, Morocco has become a true engine of progress and a global hub of innovation.
Within this ambitious national momentum, the Moroccan academic diaspora represents a powerful force extending beyond our borders. By choosing to launch the activities of CAMPR under the symbolic banner of the 50th anniversary of the glorious Green March, celebrated in November 2025, you have anchored your founding initiative within the continuity of our Nation’s great achievements. If 1975 symbolized the unity and integrity of our territorial sovereignty, your association now advances a new journey: the march of knowledge and intellect. Through your academic accomplishments and contributions, you are - and will remain - ambassadors of Moroccan excellence on the international stage.
By bringing together your talents, expertise, and strengths, you are helping build bridges of knowledge between Canada, a land of academic rigor, and Morocco, the land of your roots and future aspirations. Your commitment to fostering networking opportunities, advancing mentorship, and promoting high-level scientific partnerships constitutes a significant contribution to the diplomacy of knowledge that strengthens our country’s role and influence. You demonstrate, in the most inspiring way, that distance in no way diminishes one’s devotion, sense of belonging, or commitment to the Motherland.
My warmest congratulations go to the Founding President, Professor Hassan Safouhi, and to all the distinguished members of the Association for this highly patriotic initiative. I encourage all members of our scientific community in Canada to join this movement of excellence.
The Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Canada will always stand alongside you to help promote our community and our country, support your noble ambitions, and contribute to building a future without borders.
Long live Morocco. Long live Canada. And every success to CAMPR.
Souriya OTMANI
Ambassador of His Majesty the King of Morocco to Canada
