Resources for the student community
This space has been specially designed to enrich the learning experience of our student community. Its dynamic and evolving content adapts to current needs and supports learning in a constantly changing environment. Our ambition is to offer practical solutions, relevant advice and opportunities to support all students throughout their academic career.
Technology requirements
To ensure the best learning experience, it is important to have the appropriate technological equipment. Here are the MINIMUM requirements to optimise your participation in courses of all types:
1. Computer
- A laptop is recommended
- Up-to-date operating system: Windows 10 (or higher) or macOS X (10.13) or later.
- Intel Core i5 processor (or higher).
- Up-to-date Google Chrome, Firefox or Safari web browser
- 8 GB RAM (or higher).
- 256 GB SSD storage (or higher).
- A screen large enough and of sufficient resolution to easily view documents and videos.
2. Internet connection
- A stable, reliable and fast wired (ethernet) or wireless (wifi) Internet connection is essential to participate in virtual sessions without interruption. A wired (ethernet) connection is recommended over WiFi for the most reliable results.
- Public wireless is not suitable or sufficient to support all learning activities.
- Broadband access with a minimum speed of 3.8 Mbps/3.0 Mbps (upload/download).
- If high-speed Internet access is not available in your area, you can connect your computer to a mobile device (e.g. a smartphone) with a good signal and use your mobile data (hotspot, at your expense). However, this solution is not recommended, as the quality of the connectivity may be insufficient to ensure good video performance and could be unstable, particularly during evaluations.
3. Camera and headset
- Functional integrated/external camera
- Headset with microphone recommended
4. A Quiet environment
- For optimal learning, choose a quiet, well-lit environment when you take part in virtual sessions or do an assessment (test, quiz, final exam, etc.).
5. FOR STUDENTS REGISTERED IN THE ENGINEERING PROGRAM
See this link for standard laptop configuration.
