Programs
Our graduate curriculum is comprehensive, spanning a range of different disciplines, including construction, environmental, geotechnical and geoenvironmental, mining, petroleum, structural, transportation, water resources and cross-disciplinary studies.
Students who study with our department learn from top experts in internationally renowned facilities, and collaborate on impactful projects that extend from Alberta to the global stage, combining rigorous research with strong industry engagement.
Graduate students enrol in specialized course-based or research-based degree programs leading to one of four graduate degrees: a master of engineering (MEng), a master of science (MSc), a combined master of business administration and master of engineering (MBA/MEng) or a doctor of philosophy (PhD).
Master of Science (MSc)
A research-based program to advance your knowledge of the latest science and technology in one of our specialized areas.
Master of Engineering (MEng)
An engaging course-based program that allows you to take a deeper dive into one of eight specialized areas.
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
A research-based doctoral degree program to propel your academic career forward in one of our specialized areas.
Master of Business Administration/Masters of Engineering (MBA/MEng)
Designed for those with an undergraduate degree in engineering, the combined MBA/MEng program equips students with the skills to take a leadership role in business. Inquiries and applications for this program are made directly through the Alberta School of Business.
