The Department of Pediatrics Best Researcher Contribution by a <30% FTE Researcher

This award aims to recognize members of Faculty who produce high quality research output despite relatively limited protected research time. These Faculty members may be less likely to receive awards from other sources (given that they have other clinical, administrative or teaching responsibilities which impact their overall recognition in the field of research). The Faculty of Pediatrics leadership wishes to celebrate the research endeavours from this group of physicians.

Nomination Process

The nominator must be a faculty member of the Department of Pediatrics. The supporter of nomination must be a faculty member within the Department of Pediatrics. Both the nominator and supporter must personally have collaborated in research with the nominee while the nominee was on faculty. Both nominator and supporter of nomination must include their contact information and a letter of support.

Eligibility

Eligibility candidates include members of Department of Pediatrics faculty with <30% FTE protected research time who have demonstrated excellent research outputs, such as:

  • Successful application for regional, national or international grant funding as Principal Investigator
  • Development of multicentre research initiatives as Principal Investigator
  • Publication of at least one research article in the prior year in a high impact journal
  • At least 3 national or international peer reviewed abstract presentations in the prior year

Nominations for the 2025/2026 year are now closed.

All nominations will be reviewed by an Awards Committee consisting of various members in the Department of Pediatrics and the wider community as needed.
