MPH Program Requirements
45 units of coursework:
- 30 units of required courses
- 15 units of elective courses. Students may fulfill their elective credits by taking graduate embedded certificates (GEC), individual courses as electives, or a combination of the two. GECs may be available in other U of A graduate faculties.
- Please plan on one course averaging 10-12 hours of work per week, including class time, regardless of units — the units represent the weeks of instruction, not the workload.

- rule of thumb for graduate school: three hours of work outside the classroom for every one hour of instruction.
