Registration Information
Registration for SJC courses at the U of A is available to all current U of A students and to the general public. See below for instructions.
Current U of A Students:
Register for SJC courses directly in Bear Tracks!
If you have questions about fulfilling your degree requirements by taking SJC courses, please speak with your faculty advisor.
Non-U of A Students (including Alumni):
If you are not currently enrolled in a program at the U of A, or if you were a previous U of A student and have already graduated, you will need to be enrolled in U of A Open Studies in order to take SJC courses at the U of A.
Step 1:
- Apply to Open Studies by the relevant deadline prior to the beginning of term.
Step 2:
- Once you have received an offer of admission, you must confirm your acceptance.
- If you have not previously studied at the U of A, you will need to pay a non-refundable tuition deposit in order to confirm your acceptance.
Step 3:
- Log in to Bear Tracks to register for courses.
- Note that it can take up to three business days for your admissions confirmation to be processed before you will be able to register for courses.
General Information
- See the U of A’s information about Tuition and Fees, or see a sample fee assessment for Open Studies.
- When you apply to Open Studies, you will be granted a CCID and ualberta email for use throughout your studies.
- You will use Bear Tracks for course registration and fee payment, viewing your grades, and requesting transcripts.
