Program Information

Language of Instruction: English

Participants can take part in 2 courses out of 15 from the fields  of literature and art, business, culture, economics, history, politics and interdisciplinary in the context of Japan and Asia pacific, offering 4 credits for 2 courses.

 

All classes will be taught in English by experienced faculty members from Waseda University and visiting professors from top global universities. Japanese classes can also be taken as an optional course. Extracurricular activities such as field trips, site visits and cultural events to experience Tokyo and Japan will also be organized for participating students.

Fees & Costs

Education Abroad Nomination Fee: $250.00 CAD

Plus Program Fee:

PLAN A - 4 credits for 2 regular classes: ¥490,000 (Approx. CAD $5,500)
1 credit for optional Japanese class: ¥36,400 (Approx. CAD $405)

PROGRAM TOTAL: Approximately $5,750 CAD - $6,155 CAD
Program fee includes: 2 Courses, Accommodation (see more information here), airport pickup, domestic insurance, field trips and cultural activities, administration and miscellaneous charge.
Does NOT include: flights, living expenses, transportation between housing and campus, International insurance, textbook, field trips organized by each course.

PLAN B - 4 credits for 2 regular classes: ¥325,000 (Approx. CAD $3,900)
1 credit for optional Japanese class: ¥36,400 (Approx. CAD $405)

PROGRAM TOTAL: Approximately $4,150 CAD - $4,555 CAD

Plan B is same as A but does NOT include accommodation. 

Yuichi Kurimoto Award for Japan Business Students: Bachelor of Commerce students may be eligible for a fully funded experience. Award value will be dependent on the length of the program and program costs.


Housing

Waseda reserves rooms for Summer Session students at several different places. We have two types of accommodation. Male students must select their preferred accommodation upon application and you cannot change your accommodation preference after you submit your online application. 

1. Apartment type, For Male and Female, no meals included.

2. Dormitory type, For Male only, Breakfast and dinner included.All students are assigned a single room. Waseda Summer Session Office will assign rooms to students on a first-come, first-serve basis after payment is received.
