Student Loans

Students participating in University of Alberta education abroad programs remain registered at UAlberta so they are eligible for Alberta and Canada student loans. Check with your provincial student loan office.

International Christian University - Government of Japan MEXT Scholarship

International Christian University (ICU) MEXT Scholarship

The MEXT scholarship is funded through the Japanese government which allows graduate students to study at the International Christian University (ICU) in Japan for a set period of time. Successful candidate will have their tuition fees waived, and receive a monthly stipend to cover their living cost while they study.

To apply, please complete the application forms, and submit all required documents via email to the International Christian University (ICU): gs-adm@icu.ac.jp, in addition to sending the original documents to the ICU via post, before the deadline.

International at Home in Science Education

International at Home in Science Education (i@Home)

The Alberta Advanced Education Ministry is pleased to announce the latest Call for Applications for the Internationalization at Home in Science Education (i@Home) initiative. The i@Home program will provide grants of $6,500 each to science professors and instructors at Campus Alberta institutions to develop and pilot new approaches to internationalizing Alberta classrooms, students, and science curriculum.

Applications for this round of funding should be sent to eapawards@ualberta.ca by Wednesday, June 27th for internal review prior to being forwarded on to the GoA. Information on how to apply is located here and the application form can be found here.

Program Outcomes:

Pilot new models and initiatives to internationalize science classrooms in Alberta

Encourage intercultural learning between Alberta students and international peers

Encourage collaboration in science between Campus Alberta institutions and international partners in priority countries

Support the internationalization of Campus Alberta science faculties and students

Additional Information:

Institutions are encouraged to build on existing relationships in one of the eight priority countries.

Funding supports program design and delivery, including travel costs associated with establishing the partnership.

Only Bachelor of Commerce students are eligible for this award.
