We are here to help international students and campus community members who wish to have impactful global experiences.

The International Service Centre (ISC) is home to International Student & Visitor Services and Study Abroad.

The International Service Centre is open for in-person or online advising.

Get in line for same-day advising for your service of choice, no appointment required! To meet with an advisor online, a mobile device will require the Microsoft Teams App, so make sure to download the app before getting in line.

Access Our Services

International Student & Visitor Services

Our team of licensed immigration consultants and student advisors work with students on support for:

  • Study permits, work permits and visas
  • Emergency funding
  • Health care insurance
  • Information for SIN and income tax
  • Orientation and settlement
  • Adjusting to a new culture and country
  • Connecting to community
Advising is available without an appointment daily between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM (Mountain Standard Time) except Wednesdays.

Students currently in Edmonton should come in person for advising at the International Services Centre in the Telus Centre between the times listed above.  No appointment is needed.

Advising Option for University of Alberta students OUTSIDE OF EDMONTON

Study Abroad Advising

U of A students interested in study abroad, and international exchange students who need assistance can connect with an advisor about:
  • Semester and Full-Year Exchange Programs 
  • e3 or Summer Programs
  • U of A Programs Abroad (including the School in Cortona)
  • International Internships
    (NOTE: We do not provide advice on obtaining study permits, work permits, visas, etc., for foreign countries for the above-mentioned programs. You should direct all inquiries to the nearest Consulate or Embassy for your destination country.)
  • Funding & Awards for Go Abroad opportunities 
  • Assistance to international exchange students already at the U of A
Advising is available without an appointment on:
  • Monday and Wednesday from 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM and 1:30 - 4:00 PM
  • Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 - 11:30 AM and 1:00 - 3:30 PM.
