Public Lectures

The Lougheed College Lecture Series offers all U of A students and members of the public the opportunity to hear from some of today’s most inspirational, influential, and innovative visiting scholars and practitioners of leadership. These free evening sessions have featured guests including Shawna Pandya, Todd Babiak, Kim Katrin and Tiq Milan, Mark Tewksbury, and more.

The lectures this year are organized around the theme of ‘what’s next for Alberta?’ With a new provincial government and an upcoming federal election, intensifying pressure to address climate change and diversify Alberta’s economy, a moral obligation to take up the TRC’s calls to action, and a series of transformations—technological, generational and organizational—the series invites people to grapple with pressing issues and debates. Engage with us on dynamics that are already impacting us and will shape our futures.

Our next lecture:

Leadership by Design featuring the following panelists:

  • Alex Benay (former CIO, Government of Canada now MindBridge AI)
  • Roger Oldham (former Chief Digital Office, UK Ministry of Justice)
  • Dominique Bohn (Chief Officer, Digital Innovation Office)

Co-organized with the Digital Innovation Office of the Government of Alberta.

  • November 14, 6:30 pm

The Leadership and Diversity series, co-sponsored by the Peter Lougheed Leadership College and the Intersections of Gender Signature Area, is dedicated to broadening our thinking about who leads and what leadership looks like. Issues and organizations are increasingly complex and the multiple perspectives and experiences are imperative for developing those opportunities.
