Convocation Hall

A gem of a performance space, Convocation Hall was opened in 1915 and holds an audience of 350 people. A rectangular room wrapped by balcony on three sides, the seating in Convocation Hall is fixed, theatre style. The venue is most suitable for recitals and chamber music ensembles, although larger ensembles can be accommodated.

Convocation Hall has a nine foot Hamburg Steinway D Concert Grand Piano. It is available to rent for concerts and events.

Availability & Technical Overview

Convocation Hall is available for public bookings between the months of May and August, between the hours of 9am and 10pm. Restrictions for some weekends and holidays may apply.

Lighting

Lighting in Convocation Hall is restricted to a basic stage wash, suitable for musical performance and lecture presentations.

Audio-visual

Convocation Hall does have a built-in projection system available for rent. A house PA system with podium and microphone is also available.

Please note:

  • No outside PA systems, projection systems, or lighting systems may be brought into the hall.
  • Staffing and technical costs for Convocation Hall bookings are in addition to rental rates and will be discussed prior to finalizing your booking.
