The 33rd Alberta District Japanese Speech Contest

It was a great pleasure to host the 33rd Alberta District Japanese Speech Contest on Saturday, March 2, 2024, connecting with the University of Calgary, the University of Regina, the University of Saskatchewan and the University of Alberta by zoom. 23 contestants shared their experiences and thoughts.

In the Beginner category, Veronica Exner won first place, Anphisa Kovtunova won second place and Johannes Navalta won third place. In the Intermediate category, Sianne Bassingthwaite won first place, Raj Prasad won second place and  Ezgi Ince won third place. In the Advanced category, Tianling Huang won first place, Zixuan Zheng won second place and Summer Chan won third place. In the Open category, Megumi Varghese won first place and Weiqi Li won second place.

The first place winners from each of the categories are invited to compete at the 35th Canadian National Japanese Speech Contest held on March 24, 2024 at the the Embassy of Japan.
