Worshipping Community

We are delighted that the Archdiocese of Edmonton has announced "stage one" of the reintroduction of the Public Celebration of the Eucharist. We know that many are eager to resume these celebrations at St. Joseph's College. Unfortunately, at the present time, there are multiple issues and concerns with the physical layout of our chapels that prevent us from resuming such celebrations.

However, we are optimistic that we can resume celebrations later this summer and we are currently examining ways that our chapels can meet the public health and Archdiocesan guidelines, in order to move ahead with the Public Celebration of the Eucharist.

Additionally, we have explored options for connecting virtually with the SJC Chapel community. Starting this Sunday, May 31 at 10:00 a.m., Fr. Jim will be celebrating Sunday mass via Zoom. We are thus sending out the call for lectors who will not only proclaim the readings from the comfort and safety of their homes, but also serve as respondents during the mass. Please contact Fr. Jim if you are willing to participate: jstenber@ualberta.ca

Finally, we are happy to hear further ideas and suggestions. We look forward to reconnecting with you all in some way soon. May the peace of the Lord be with you and yours.
