Charles Taylor's A Secular Age describes a space for religious belief and transcendence in modern societies in contrast to the perceived inevitability of disbelief and immanence in the 21st century. Catholic schools, as communities of faith, often struggle to develop faith-based educators within secular settings where transcendence is often questioned. Using insight from Taylor, we set out to present principles for faith education that challenge old assumptions and offer a future for formation of educators.
