Message from the Vice Dean and Chair of the EDI committee

The Faculty of Nursing embraces equity, diversity and inclusivity. Our mission is to promote health, equity and quality of life for the public good by creating vibrant and supportive environments, advancing health science and developing nurse leaders.

The Equity, Diversity and Inclusivity (EDI) Committee promotes a high level, consistent and reliably strong commitment to EDI and facilitates the implementation of the Faculty of Nursing’s vision and mission through initiatives that foster equity, diversity and inclusivity. The faculty’s EDI Strategic Plan highlights information and tools to support leadership to make the changes that will lead to a more diverse, inclusive and equitable faculty and student experience.

Our many achievements this year include forming an EDI committee, Indigenous and inclusivity working groups, developing a revised Faculty of Nursing EDI plan, and highlighting various EDI activities in the faculty. We are striving to increase inclusivity and cultural knowledge sharing.

We are excited about our first cultural knowledge exchange activity to share the diversity within our faculty, staff and student body — and we look forward to many more to come.
