If you are an ADI Member you are eligible to apply for ADI funding opportunities. Acknowledging generous donations from the Alberta Diabetes Foundation, The Gladys Woodrow Wirtanen, The Morley and Val Blanch Family, and The Muttart Diabetes Research and Training Centre.

2023 ADI Pilot Project Competition

LOI SUBMISSION DEADLINE: January 16, 2023, by 11:59 pm MT

The Alberta Diabetes Institute is pleased to announce the 2023 ADI Pilot Project competition. Funds for this competition are generously provided by the Muttart Diabetes Research and Training Centre. 

For the purpose of these awards, Pilot Research is considered to be highly novel, hypothesis-driven research related to a better understanding of or treatment for diabetes.

We anticipate the ability to support three awards (up to $30,000 per award held for 12-18 months).

The application process requires the submission of a Letter of Intent (LOI).

2023 Catalyst Grant Competition (Val and Morley Blanch Collaboration & Translation Fund)

LOI SUBMISSION DEADLINE: January 16, 2023, by 11:59 pm MT

The Blanch family have generously supported research at the ADI for many years. With a recent commitment of $250,000, the ADI is delighted to announce this funding opportunity. Held annually for the next three years, the Val and Morley Blanch Collaboration & Translation Fund “Catalyst Grant Competition” will support one project each year (award of $80,000 which can be spent over 2 years) which brings researchers together in meaningful collaborations to accelerate translation of diabetes research towards clinical impact. 

The application process requires the submission of a Letter of Intent (LOI).
