Tricia Waddell, ’96 BA, ’00 JD, ’14 MBA

Faculty of Law Representative

Tricia has a strong desire to continue and deepen her connection to the U of A as a member of the Alumni Council. Tricia Waddell graduated from U of A with a B.A. (Political Science and French) (1996), a J.D. (2000), and an M.B.A. (International Business) (2014). After some years working as a corporate commercial lawyer, in 2008- 2012 Tricia worked as the first lawyer dedicated to the U of A Research Services Office. Following her work at U of A, she was the first General Counsel and lawyer at Mount Royal University. Prior to her current role, she was the first lawyer and General Counsel at Edmonton-based Champion Petfoods. Currently, she is a Senior Legal Counsel for an exciting company focussed on sustainability, Greenfield Global. She has served in various roles on the Board of Law Alumni & Friends, and on the Board for the Association of Corporate Counsel (Alberta).

Tricia has developed an understanding of Governance, particularly University Governance, through extensive volunteerism, membership on several non-profit boards (including United Way, Rotary & Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation), and work experience. Tricia is a Canadian Risk Manager, has education in change management, and is currently pursuing certifications in privacy. Known for her leadership, networking skills, and dedication to community service, she intends to continue to raise U of A’s profile, in Edmonton and beyond.
