Lunch

The first half hour of lunch break is taken inside. Campers must provide their own lunch every day. However, campers may be escorted to the Students Union Building (SUB) if they need to purchase lunch. After the first half hour, campers will be taken outside to play before going back inside for afternoon activities. For the safety of campers with allergies, please DO NOT send nuts or nut products to camp.

Valuables and Personal Property

Bringing valuables like music players, electronic games, cell phones, trading cards etc. to camp for use during lunchtime, before and after camp is at the discretion of the parent/guardian, but is not recommended. The Faculty of Science is not responsible for loss or damage to campers’ valuables.

Illness Policy

To ensure the health and safety of our campers and staff, we will send sick campers home. Any camper displaying flu-like symptoms including headache, chills, cough, followed by fever, loss of appetite, nausea, diarrhea, muscle aches and fatigue, runny nose, watery eyes, and sore throat may be asked to leave camp. When symptoms are first noticed, the leaders will notify the parent/guardian so that they can arrange for pick up. If the camper returns to camp the following day and continues to display symptoms of a contagious flu virus, we will phone the parent/guardian and ask them to remove the camper and withdraw from camp for the remainder of the week.

Behaviour Policy

To ensure a quality experience and the safety of our campers and staff, we will contact parents/guardians if participant behaviour becomes a problem. We may ask parents/guardians to pick up the camper early if negative behaviour continues. Acts such as bullying, misbehaviour detrimental to the camp experience, damage to property or physical harm to other campers or staff are not acceptable at camp. If this behaviour is deemed serious and continuous, we will phone the parent/guardian and ask them to remove the camper and withdraw from camp for the remainder of the week. In this case, a refund will be paid at a prorated fee for camp days attended.
