General Two Gun Cohen is the first historical novel in Chinese about a local historical figure, Morris Cohen. Ma Kun is his Chinese name. He was an even more legendary Canadian than Norman Bethune. In early 20th century he was a successful realtor, a protector and spokesman of the Chinese community in Edmonton. Meanwhile he was an active member of Tongmenghui, a Chinese revolutionary organization.
George Dong, is an Edmonton journalist and author of this new book about Morris Cohen - or, to give him his Chinese name, Ma-Kun.
Mr. Dong will give a seminar about his new book in Room 233/235 of Telus Building from 12:30 to 2:00 pm, Nov. 6(Wed.)
