The Kule Institute for Advanced Study (KIAS)

The Kule Institute for Advanced Study (KIAS) s a major endowed research institute based at the University of Alberta. KIAS facilitates transformational interdisciplinary and comparative research at the highest standards nationally and internationally. The Institute is guided by the ideals set forth by its founding benefactors, and the University of Alberta's commitment to "the Uplifting of the Whole People" (as articulated by University President Henry Marshall Tory in 1908) through research and learning.

Undergraduate Research Initiative (URI)

The Undergraduate Research Initiative (URI) supports and encourages the research activities of undergraduate students at the University of Alberta. URI offers research and funding opportunities, symposiums, conferences, information sessions, and workshops to students from all disciplines.

The URI has expanded its Research Opportunity Inventory to include several new features, including: virtual researcher-in-residence, discussion forums, and links to resources related to undergraduate research. You can now search the forums for research opportunities, post new opportunities, or ask questions about how to get involved in research. Click here to visit the Portal!
