Student Accommodation Requirements - Spring/Summer 2022

Please review the information below for details of the student accommodation procedures for Spring/Summer 2022. Learn more about Exam Accommodations and Accommodation Processes and Delivery, including roles and responsibilities for remote, in-person, and blended accommodation contexts.

  • Activate your accommodations for each of your classes. This ensures your instructors are aware of your accommodations. and book ALL eligible exams (including quizzes, tests, midterms, and finals) as soon as you receive your course outlines.
  • Register ALL exams (including quizzes, tests, midterms, and finals) in ClockWork in order to access accommodations. This includes exams that are administered remotely, administered by your instructor, as well as those written in the Learning Assessment Centre (LAC).

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Spring/Summer 2022 exam (including quizzes, tests, midterms, and finals) registrations are governed ONLY by a rolling 7-day deadline.
Activate Your Accommodations
  • Activate your accommodations as soon as you receive your course outline(s).
  • Save a copy of your Letter(s) of Accommodation for your reference.
  • Contact your course instructor(s) early to discuss your accommodations, as required.
Register Your Accommodated Exams
Register ALL Spring/Summer 2022 exams (including quizzes, tests, midterms, and finals) as soon as you receive your course outlines. 
  • Go to the Clockwork Online Student Services portal
  • Select the Book an Exam icon
  • Spring/Summer 2022 exam (including quizzes, tests, midterms, and finals) registration requests are governed ONLY by a rolling 7-day deadline.
    • Exams must be booked at least seven (7) full days before the date of the exam.
    • Note: ClockWork defines a full day as beginning at 12:00 a.m. and ending at 11:59 p.m. (Mountain time). For example, to book an exam scheduled for Tuesday, May 17, 2022, you must submit your request by 11:59 p.m. (Mountain Time) by Monday, May 9, 2022.

PLEASE NOTE: 

  • Book your exams as early as possible–even if their dates remain tentative--as it can take considerable time to organize exam accommodations. Book now!

Please promptly email arrec@ualberta.ca when

  • you have exams scheduled to occur during the first week of your course.
  • you have questions, or need to revise or cancel your exam booking.
Prepare for Your Accommodated Exams

Before your exams:

  • Check your technologies and accommodations. Connect with our service providers early for assistance 
    • Book an appointment with a learning specialist to improve your study and exam-taking skills by emailing success@ualberta.ca.
    • Email your Accessibility Advisor at accomadv@ualberta.ca about any assistance you need with your accommodations. 
    • Contact our Adaptive Technology, Alternate Format, or ASL/CART specialist about your exam needs.
