Installation Instructions for Read & Write

Instructions for student home use

Step 1:
Download the .zip file for your computer.

Step 2:
For Windows: Locate the .zip file and double-click to open. In the window, go to the top menu and under “Extract” click on “Extract all”. For Mac: Locate the .zip folder and double-click it. Files will be extracted automatically.

Step 3:
For Windows: Double-click “setup.exe” and follow the prompts to install.
For Mac: Double-click “Read&Write.dmg” and in the window that opens, drag the Read and Write icon into the Applications folder.

Step 4:
For Windows: Double-click the Read and Write icon on the desktop.
For Mac: Locate the Read and Write icon within your Applications folder. Optionally, drag it to your Dock.

Step 5:
For both Windows and Mac: For the sign-on screen, click the top bar, “Sign in with Google”. If you are already signed in to your browser with your university ID, you will be prompted to select your account to continue. If you are not signed in, you will be asked to input your university email and password.

Once you have signed to your university account, the full edition of Read and Write becomes available.

Read&Write for Google Chrome extension
To install the Read&Write for Google Chrome extension, launch Chrome and go to this link: 
Click “Add to Chrome” to install the extension.
