Lin Snelling

Company member, Carbon 14 Dance Theatre, directed by Gilles Maheu, 1989-2002; involved in national and international touring with Silences et Cris, Les Âmes Mortes, L'Hiver/Winterland, Le Café des Aveugles, La Fôret, Vingt Ans, and the seminal dance/theatre work Le Dortoir.

Rewriting Distance. Workshop/Performance with Guy Cools 2011/ongoing. Rewriting Distance received a SSHRC Partnership Grant in 2019 to work with Mile Zero Dance in Edmonton, and a Canada Council grant to tour to Halifax in 2020. In 2012/13 it received a Dissemination Grant and in 2012/13 and toured to Limerick and Dublin in Ireland, Antwerp in Belgium, and Montreal, Toronto and Edmonton in Canada. It was performed at Tanzfabrik in Berlin, and toured to Vienna, Antwerp, Gent and Halifax in 2013/14

Performing Book. An interdisciplinary dance, music and visual art performance developed through support from Canada Council for the Arts, TLEF, and a Winspear Grant. Collaborators are Shelagh Keeley (Visual Art) and Michael Reinhart (Music and Photography) Performed in Limassol Cyprus, Montreal, Vancouver, and Edmonton, Canada. This is an on-going site-specific inquiry into dance, drawing, music and the writing of a books through performance in site-specific spaces. In 2014 Performing Book was Invited to MoMA for or a Research Residency and was performed as At the Table at The Museum of Modern Art Archives, an internationally recognized research center for modern and contemporary art. Shelagh Keeley and Lin Snelling have collaborated on and off for the past 30 years and have collaborated on a book called Drawing Space (2009), and an artist book called Notes on Choreography and Drawing (2013).

The Room Residency. Directed interdisciplinary dance performance project over 4 years, funded by Canada Council, including 10 artists from across Canada and produced with Usine C, EDAM and the WESTERN FRONT. 2006-2010.

Repeating Distance. Performance/Workshop with Dramaturge Guy Cools. Presented in London, Cyprus, Nanaimo, Montréal, Bruges, Antwerp, Athens, Vienna, Toronto, Holland, Edmonton. 2005-2010.
