Currently FAB Gallery is open under reduced hours—Wednesday to Friday from 12:00pm to 4:00pm—and following health guidelines.
COVID-19 Gallery Rules:
- Masks are required.
- Use hand sanitizer upon entering.
- No food or drink allowed in the gallery.
- Allow 2 meters (6 feet) for physical distancing.
- Limits on number of people present are in place.

About the Exhibit
This exhibition is the first in this region of the world to feature the use of cutting-edge digital technology on large scale marble, with hand refining. It consists of nine Italian marble sculptures all milled digitally by a huge seven axis milling machine at Garfagnana Innovazione for participants in the Digital Stone Project artist workshops/ symposiums/residencies.
The process makes it possible for young artists to achieve stunning work using a combination of virtual-space computer technology, together with traditional hand refining, on one of the most ancient and enduring materials in the world.
Within the Weight of Action features work by seven University of Alberta trained artists who all studied sculpture at the U of A over a span of many years (1986 – 2020).
