Get to know...Zofia Lee
This month, we're excited to highlight Zofia Lee, Curriculum Coordinator at the Office of Education of the Alberta School of Business. We learn about her favourite travel destination, hobbies and her best advice for new colleagues!
What’s a fun fact about you that most people wouldn’t know?
I performed with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra for a few holiday shows when I was a member of the University of Alberta Faculty of Education Handbell Ringers.
What’s your favourite way to spend a weekend or day off?
Sleeping in, eating an elaborate brunch (either cooked at home or at a local restaurant), spending time with my dog outside, and a crafternoon with friends.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
Probably Poland or Taiwan to visit mine or my husband’s families, though this weather has me thinking that a beach vacation would be amazing right now.

What’s a hobby or skill you’ve recently picked up (or would like to try)?
I really want to try pottery classes! I think shaping a piece of clay with my hands sounds so challenging and fun.
What’s a book, movie or TV show you're currently enjoying?
Right now my husband and I are rewatching Killing Eve.
Do you have a favourite meal or go-to comfort food?
My favourite meal is sushi at Japonais Bistro, and my go-to comfort food is President’s Choice brand macaroni and cheese.
What inspires or motivates you the most in your day-to-day life?
Growth. I am motivated to grow and become a better person.
Can you share a bit about your role and what brought you to the Alberta School of Business?
I work as a Curriculum Coordinator at the Office of Education. I have a background in Education and I love problem-solving, and so far this role has been a great fit for me!
What’s been your most memorable moment at the Alberta School of Business so far?
I loved helping out at the New Student Business Orientation and getting the opportunity to interact with students who were just about to enter their first year at the Alberta School of Business.
What’s one piece of advice you’d share with a new colleague joining the school?
Take advantage of the 5th floor lounge! It’s a great spot to meet other folks from across the school (and to grab a warm drink while you’re at it).
