Awards and Accolades - January to March 2026

Student Success

Congratulations to our students Cainwyn Clark, Kinza Mawji, Anay Misra, and Sajan Jairath, who have won the Venture Capital Investment Competition (VCIC) Canada Regionals, held in Halifax. The team will advance to the global finals at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Congratulations as well to their mentors Peter Keith, Douglas Peterson, Tony Briggs, and Davis Maloney.

Two of our student teams placed in the top three at the CPA Alberta Business Challenge Case Competition. Congratulations to Hunter Miller, Maya Bezubiak, Eshan Shivji, and Jacqueline Cooksey, who placed second, and Maddie Spelliscy, Elliot Hope, Sahj, and Victoria Aird, who placed third and their mentor Trish Stringer.

Our MBA students Amy Xinrui Li, Jasmeen Dhah, Majid Nikouee, and Philip Fung placed second at the Telfer MBA Diversity and Inclusion Case Challenge, hosted by the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa. Congratulations.

Our MBA students Alex Flynn, Jordan Mayers, Mason D’Souza, Zach Prusko, and Xinrui (Amy) Li placed third at the Venture Capital Investment Competition (VCIC) in Halifax. Congratulations to the team.

Congratulations to our MBA students Majid Nikouee, Jasmeen Dhah, Frans, and Xinrui (Amy) Li, who earned first place at the MBA Internal Case Competition held in partnership with CGI.

Competing against 30 teams, our students placed second at a case competition hosted by McKinsey & Company in collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Consulting Association, addressing a challenge related to hosting mega-events in the City of Edmonton. Congratulations to Philip Fung, Harkirat Malhi, Jasmeen Dhah, Amy Xinrui Li, and Majid Nikouee.

Congratulations on Collins Ratemo, Groom Dereje Zewde, Anthony Okindo, and Taylor Plican's strong performance at the KV Capital Private Equity Case Competition, hosted by the UA Investors Club and the Business Operations Management Club. The team placed first and one team member also received the Best Speaker Award.
