Research Interests

Jessica Roth is a new PhD student in Strategy, Entrepreneurship and Management, whose research interests may shift significantly. She is fascinated by cultural entrepreneurship specifically in stigmatized contexts. Jessica believes that although most cultural entrepreneurship is positive, cultural appropriation may represent a type of harmful cultural entrepreneurship often experienced by marginalized communities. As such, her plan is to examine intersections where cultural practices become commodified in new ways both by cultural insiders and outsiders.
