If you completed your studies in Alberta, the University of Alberta will automatically obtain your transcripts through ApplyAlberta. If you studied in another province, please follow the instructions for submitting transcripts provided on the University’s website.
If you studied outside Canada, please follow these detailed instructions.
Admission requirements vary by program. Please consult the programs section to learn more about the academic requirements for our college, undergraduate and graduate programs.
The admission application requires a non-refundable application processing fee of $150 CAD. This fee can be paid online by credit card.
Once you are admitted to your program, you will also need to pay an acceptance deposit to confirm your offer of admission and reserve your place. This deposit will be applied toward your first-year tuition fees.
The deposit amount depends on your status at the time of application:
- $500 CAD – Canadian citizens and permanent residents;
- $1,000 CAD – International students already residing in Canada;
- $5,000 CAD – International students residing outside Canada.
The deposit can be paid online by credit card.

Two programs at the Alberta College Centre — Early Childhood Education and Business Administration — offer a distance-learning option.
For our undergraduate university programs, the vast majority of courses are offered in person. Students must therefore be present in Edmonton to complete their program.
The Bachelor of Education in Elementary Education, Bachelor of Education in Secondary Education, and Bachelor of Education After Degree programs can be completed entirely online. However, practicum placements must be completed in person, generally in the student’s region of residence.
For our graduate programs, courses are offered in a hybrid format, both in person and online, depending on the program.
Campus Saint-Jean does not have a specific pre-medical program. Most medical schools in Canada require applicants to have completed a minimum of 60 university credits in specific courses for admission. Therefore, students must first enroll in a university program. It is important to research the admission requirements of the medical school you are interested in.
You select your major/minor through the admission application form when you indicate your priority choices.
A change to your program or major/minor before admission can be made through the Launchpad platform before the stated deadline. After the deadline, you must contact the Student Service Centre to make a change to your original application.
Once you have been admitted, program and major/minor changes can be made with the assistance of academic advisors.
We cannot evaluate your transferable credits before you submit your admission application. You must first complete your application, be admitted to the program, and accept your offer of admission. The transfer credit evaluation process will then be carried out automatically, particularly if you studied at a recognized and accredited institution.
Once your file has been evaluated, Campus Saint-Jean may recognize up to 60 credits completed at another institution, subject to certain conditions.
Before requesting an evaluation of your credits, you can also consult our transfer credit database. If courses from your institution have already been evaluated and approved by the University of Alberta, you will be able to see the recognized equivalencies there.
There is no fixed timeline for receiving an offer of admission.
Once your application has been submitted, please check the checklist in the Launchpad platform to determine the status of your application. Make sure to provide all required documents before the deadline. Once your application is complete and has been evaluated, you will receive the final decision from the Admissions Office by email.
