Transfer to the University of Alberta

You are considered a transfer applicant if you have already completed courses at a post-secondary institution and want to continue your studies at the University of Alberta.

If you have fewer than 24 transferable units

Your application will be assessed based on:

If you have 24 or more transferable units

Your admission will be assessed primarily based on your post-secondary studies and AGPA. The required AGPA varies depending on the program.

Up to 60 transfer credits

You may generally receive up to 60 units of transfer credit toward your program at Campus Saint-Jean, subject to your program and faculty requirements.

Step 1 — Your institution must be recognized

Your courses must generally come from a recognized or accredited post-secondary institution.

An accredited institution is officially recognized by the appropriate authority in its province or country and is authorized to provide post-secondary education.

How can you check?

• Authorization to grant degrees or credentials

You can also use the University of Alberta's transfer credit tools. Your institution or some of your courses may already appear in the transfer credit database.

The final assessment of your transfer credits takes place after you are admitted to the University of Alberta.

You do not need to request a separate transfer credit assessment before applying.

The process is generally initiated after you:

1. Submit your application
