Changing Staff Type
Important information about new group benefits providers
The university is moving to new providers for your group benefits in 2027. Your benefit plans are not changing, they will be administered and delivered by new partners.
We encourage you to visit the Benefits Provider Transition webpage for more information, including FAQs and benefit categories and timelines. The provider transition will begin this fall and conclude in April 2027.
This section has information about what happens to your benefits when you change staff types without a break in service with the university. Your change in coverage will be effective on the date of your transfer.
Program eligibility and levels of coverage vary depending on your appointment. Please review the Benefits Summary & Enrolment Guide for your new staff type. The information provided below is in addition to the guide details.
