Tribes: provocative domestic drama

In Tribes, we meet Billy a young Deaf man who was raised to read lips and speak rather than sign to communicate. Billy falls for Sylvia, a young woman who is becoming Deaf.

Tribes premiered in 2010 at London Royal Court Theatre and won the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play in 2012.

Not your typical play

MFA Director Amanda Bergen is seeking your support for the U of A Studio production of Tribes: "We are hoping this play opens up dialogue about accessibility, the Deaf community, and how we can take action to provide a more inclusive space in the theatre."

Support the USEED online fundraising campaign:

Your support will go towards the additional production costs of ASL interpreters for Saturday, May 16 and Saturday, May 23 performances.
