Lee Close, '85 BCom, at the office of Ernst & Young
If your employer is part of our Corporate Matching program, you can increase the size of your gift. Search our corporate matching database at uab.ca/matching to see if your company will match your donation, and to access the appropriate forms, guidelines and instructions. If your company is not part of our program, encourage them to contact the University of Alberta.
Partners in Giving
The accounting career of Ottawa resident Lee Close, ’85 BCom, has taken many paths: auditing, management consulting, insolvency work and travel to many parts of Canada. The one thing that hasn’t changed is her employer, the “Big Four” accounting firm Ernst & Young, an organization she admires for its stability and integrity.
When Ernst & Young started to match employee donations to post-secondary institutions, Close decided to significantly increase her giving to the University of Alberta.
She says corporate matching programs are an ideal way to expand your impact as a donor and feel closer to your employer.
“If your organization believes in that cause and you believe in your organization, then get behind that. You’re both working towards the same goal.”
