Chantelle Cardinal

As a proud member of  Whitefish Lake #128 (Goodfish Lake) Nation of  Treaty Six territory, Chantelle Cardinal comes with over 16-years of experience working with the First Nations of Alberta. More recently, she holds a leadership role with the Stoney Nakoda-Tsuut’ina Tribal Council (G4), where her responsibilities include leading initiatives on homelessness prevention and climate and energy conservation.

As the Director of Reaching Home, Chantelle is tasked with guiding G4 as Canada’s exclusive Tribal Council responsible for Infrastructure Canada's investments aimed at preventing and ending homelessness.

Chantelle’s role also includes the Climate Change portfolio, where she is engaged in community engagement and project management for the Government of Alberta’s Indigenous Climate Leadership Initiative (ICLI), Here, she‘s directed activities related to climate change focusing on energy efficiency and renewable energy development, while working with communities to increase climate literacy.

Chantelle’s commitment to climate action goes beyond her employment. She had been selected as one of Indigenous Clean Energy 20/20 Catalysts, participating in a cohort of 20 Indigenous leaders from across Canada to share in practical and applied learning, including moving forward on-the-ground clean energy projects. and a regional selection member for Indigenous Services Canada’s Climate Change and Health Adaptation Program (CCHAP) as well as the First Nations Environmental Contaminants Program (FNECP).

Chantelle is a life long learner and loves the communities and people that she works for, and this is demonstrated in the work and the commitment that she brings to the Indigenous peoples and communities.
