Deadline Extension: December 15th, 2013
The Music Department has just received word that the application deadline for a major Alberta-wide competition has been extended. The Johann Strauss Foundation Awards for the Advanced Study of Music in Austria is giving potential student applicants an additional 2 weeks to submit their applications for the illustrious awards, which provide financial support enabling students to travel and study in Austria during the summer season.
Awarded to current music students enrolled at any Alberta post-secondary institution, the Johann Strauss Music Awards can be applied to the school and/or program of study of choice of the applicant. The number and amount of the awards are variable, with 1-3 awards being granted per year and ranging in value from $2,000 - $5,000 CAD. All instrumentalists and vocalists are welcome to apply.
This is a wonderful opportunity for students of all backgrounds to travel abroad and enrich their studies, and we encourage you to apply! Auditions will be held at the University of Alberta on January 4th, 2014.
