Baroque Competition Deadline: February 19th, 2014

Calling all baroque musicians: The deadline to apply to audition for the Alberta Baroque Ensemble Scholarship is fast approaching. If you have been working on a concerto, fantasia, sonata, or other piece from the baroque period that is ready to be performed, we encourage you to apply without delay!

A reminder to all students interested in applying for the Alberta Baroque Ensemble Scholarship:

The Alberta Baroque Ensemble Scholarship audition will take place on March 3rd at 7pm in Convocation Hall. All interested candidates should register by emailing gtardif@ualberta.ca (and cc: instructor), along with the following information:

- Your instrument
- Year in program
- Title and movements of works to be performed (max. 15'. concerto, fantasia, sonata, cantata or songs from the baroque period)
- Name of accompanist
- Your phone number
- Any time limitations you may have on the night of audition.

Alberta Baroque Music Society Scholarship in Music

Field of Study: Music

Value: $1,000

Number: 1

Conditions: To be awarded annually to an undergraduate or graduate student with superior academic achievement entering the third or fourth year of study in an undergraduate degree program or entering any year of a graduate degree program, in the Department of Music. Recipient will be selected on the basis of excellence in performing, academic standing, and demonstrated interest in Baroque music, and must play a traditional Baroque instrument (including voice). Recipients of the award may also be considered by the Alberta Baroque Society for an appearance with the Alberta Baroque Ensemble.
