Looking for an arts elective? Want to put your humanities major to work in a different way? The Music Department offers a wide range of elective courses open to students from all disciplines, departments, and faculties.

While not everyone was cut out to become a Yo-Yo Ma, we all undoubtedly share a love for music. UAlberta's Department of Music is proud to offer a wide range of electives to satisfy students from all disciplines and faculties. Elective courses include lectures and seminars in musicology and ethnomusicology, music theory and analysis, history, and literature, as well as vocal and instrumental performance opportunities.

Whether you are a lapsed band geek or choir nerd, a latent master composer, or simply want to put your Humanities major to work in a different way, we're sure to have something that appeals to you!
