Announcing four new back-to-back album releases on well-known music label, Azul Music, featuring violinist Vladimir Rufino (DMus 2017) and violist Fabiola Amorim (DMus 2018).

The enthusiastic pair continues as a thriving duet in life and as musical partners.

During the lockdown, Vladimir Rufino and Fabiola Amorim turned to the Edmonton Arts Council to complete a project of a duet album, DEBUT, including works by Wranitzky, Hoffmeister, Villa-Lobos, Martinu, and a commission titled Two Hearts in Concert by Canadian composer Frank Horvat.

The completed album was well received by the management at Azul Music, an award-winning independent based in Sao Paulo, Brazil, with a strong presence on all digital platforms, in TV, film, and advertising (in Brazil and beyond). It was decided to release DEBUT under the Azul label in July 2022.

Azul then further expressed interest in the solo albums recorded by Vladimir Rufino and Fabiola Amorim in 2017 and 2018 respectively, focusing on Brazilian works. Rufino’s From the Brazilian Northeast and Amorim’s Amoroso were then released and have since appeared on important classical music playlists around the world, including consecutive weeks on the Amazon Music “Fresh Classical”, Spotify’s “Classical New Releases”, YouTube’s “Classical New & Timeless”, Apple Music’s “New in Classical” and on iTunes.

This remarkable partnership with Azul Music continues with the recent release in November 2022 of the MOSAICO album (recorded 2018) featuring the Vaughan String Quartet, in works by Villa-Lobos, Gomes, Runcini and Boi.
