Rowan Lab Virtual Tour

Named after William Rowan, the founder of what in 1920 was the Department of Zoology, the Rowan Lab, now in the Department of Biological Sciences, is home to wide array of vertebrate specimens. Collected over the past century, The University of Alberta Museum of Zoology is one of the best of its kind, and includes many rare and unusual specimens.

Through the Rowan Lab, Undergraduate students have the privilege of observing many interesting species and anatomical adaptations first hand. There is no replacement for direct observation where science is concerned, and literally thousands of U of A students have gained immeasurable benefit to their education, by taking courses in the Rowan Lab.

The Rowan Lab is located in the Biological Sciences Building on the University of Alberta North Campus, room Z-305. It is currently closed due to COVID-19 restrictions.
