Research Internships

University of Alberta International offers several options for students from abroad who want to gain research experience at the UAlberta on a short-term basis. These programs are open to students from all disciplines who are interested in expanding their knowledge in their area of study through collaboration with UAlberta's world-class researchers.
University of Alberta Research Experience (UARE)
Open to: Senior undergraduate students at key partner institutions
Disciplines: All
Funding: $6,000 CAD
Duration: 12 weeks, year-round
MITACS Globalink
Open to: Undergraduate and graduate students in designated countries
Disciplines: All
Funding: Varies
Duration: 12 weeks, May to September
China Scholarship Council (CSC) Funded Internships
Open to: Undergraduate students from Project 211 universities in China
Disciplines: All
Funding: $4,500 CAD, airfare, health insurance
Duration: 3 months, July to October
Government of Canada International Scholarships (SEED, ELAP, CARICOM)
Open to: Undergraduate and graduate students from the Caribbean, the Americas, and Southeast Asia
Disciplines: All
Funding: $7,200 - $15,900 CAD
Duration: 4 - 8 months
