Brian McPherson

Brian McPherson, ’78 BSc, ’83 DDS

School of Dentistry Representative

Brian was born and raised in Edmonton, graduating from the University of Alberta with a BSc (distinction) in 1978, and a DDS in 1983. His career in general dentistry spanned over a 36-year period, where he owned and operated a downtown practice in Edmonton until retirement in 2019. 

Growing up in the Highlands community, Brian joined the Highlands Golf Club at a young age and continues to golf there today. He spent 6 years on the Board of Directors for the golf club and enjoyed the various volunteer opportunities it provided. Brian was elected to the U of A Senate in 2018, and currently is completing his fifth year. This role has allowed him to reconnect with the U of A as well as to promote the university to the broader community.

Brian, and his wife Bernie Kollman, enjoy the arts, community events, sporting activities, and taking walks along the city parks and river valley. They love international travel and have been able to resume that activity.
