The 7th volume (Russia and Eurasia, China) of this encyclopedia contains two sections about Ukrainian ethnology. The first section, Ukrainian Peasants, begins on page 385. This section explains the ethnology of Ukrainian peasants while the later section beginning on page 388, examines the ethnology of Ukrainians in general. Both sections provide information about the geographical orientation of Ukrainians, their settlements, economy, kinship, marriage and family practices as well as information about the religions of Ukrainians and their expressive culture. The later section also contains 2 pages of information about Ukraine's history and cultural relations. The language and comprehension level of this encyclopedia is appropriate for junior high school students, high school students and the general public.

This encyclopedia contains an extensive section on Ukrainian Canadian ethnology. Information is included about the origin of Ukrainians, history of their migration to Canada: the 3 waves of immigration, immigration laws for Ukrainians, economic life: the importance and relevance of agriculture, business ventures, teaching and professionalism of Ukrainians, community life: cultural activity, organizations, newspapers, family and kinship, culture: traditions, language, dance, music, literature, food, crafts, education, religion, politics: within Canada and between Canada and Ukraine, Intergroup relations: between Ukrainians and Poles, Russians, Romanians and Jews as well as group maintenance and ethnic commitment. The language and comprehension level of this encyclopedia is appropriate for high school students and members of the general public.

This book contains a brief, three-page text on Ukrainian еthnography. Although published in 1984 during Soviet times, the information is relevant, it addresses Ukraine's name, cultural aspects, regions ethnographic groups and religion as well as Russian influence and Russification of Ukraine. The language and comprehension level of this book is appropriate for junior high, high school and the general public.

This book is an easy-to-read history of Ukrainian Canada and Ukrainian ultural issues in Canada. This book іs an account of Ukrainian history, culture in every province of Canada and although published in 1984, Salt and Braided Bread provides an interesting look at Ukrainian ethnology in Canada. Salt and Braided Bread is filled with large color photos. The language and comprehension level of this book is appropriate for elementary, junior high, high school and the general public.
