On the 25th Anniversary of Ukraine's Independence

The staff and associates of the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies (CIUS) send the citizens of Ukraine heartfelt wishes for peace, prosperity, and success in preserving their hard-earned freedoms and the right to live in a country whose territorial integrity and security are respected internationally. CIUS has been pursuing the scholarly study of Ukraine not only through its quarter-century of independence, but over the Institute's own forty-year history as a leading centre of research on Ukraine in the West. In the face of relentless disinformation being disseminated by Russia to discredit and isolate Ukraine while undermining Ukrainian efforts to build a society based on the rule of law, the continuing scholarly work of CIUS aimed at providing objective information about Ukraine's past and current affairs is more important than ever.
