Centres and Programs

The CIUS' three main research areas are Ukrainian-Canadian Studies, Ukrainian Studies, and Ukrainian Language Pedagogical Resources. The Institute's various programs are a testament to the dynamic endeavours within these research areas, just a few of which are: the Stasiuk Program for the Study of Contemporary Ukraine; the Ukrainian Language and Education Centre; the Kowalsky Program for the Study of Eastern Ukraine; and the Kule Ukrainian Canadian Studies Centre. The Institute has established cooperative academic ventures with universities in Ukraine, which include the Institute of Historical Research at the Ivan Franko National University of L'viv, the Ukrainian Catholic University (also in L'viv), the Vasyl Karazyn National University of Kharkiv, and Zaporizhia University. Additionally, CIUS has cultivated close ties with a group of scholars organized as the Association of Researchers of Central and Eastern Europe, as well as with scholars in the Institute of History at the National Academy of Sciences.
