Awards and Scholarships

NSERC CGS M

Available to students in their fourth year of an eligible undergraduate program (and to first year graduate students) who intend to pursue in the following year full-time graduate studies at the masters or doctoral level in one of the areas of the Natural Sciences or Engineering. Applicant must be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada. Requirements: GPA of at least 3.5 in each of the last two completed years of study.

Value: $17,500 (for one year).

NSERC Summer Studentship (USRA)

Available to students registered full-time in an eligible academic program leading to a bachelor's degree with a major or honors concentration in one of the Natural Sciences or in Engineering. Student must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and have completed all the course requirements of at least the first year of university study (or two academic terms) of her/her bachelor's degree at the time they hold the award. Requirements: GPA of at least 3.0 in their program up to the time of application.

Value: at least $1,406.25/month (for 4 months)

AIHS Summer Studentships

Available to undergraduate students with an exceptional academic record who wish to participate in summer research in a medical or health-related field. (Students who are currently in the last term of their undergraduate degrees must have applied either to Medical School or to a graduate program that would start in the coming Fall). Value : Approximately $1,300/month (the award is tenable for a minimum of 2 months and a maximum of 4 months during period May to August)
