Writing Services

At the Academic Success Centre, we offer a variety of writing services. We work with all students, faculty, staff, and alumni – in any subject, discipline, program, or faculty, and at all levels of study.

Peer Tutoring

At the Academic Success Centre, our friendly peer tutors are available to help undergraduate students get ahead of assignment deadlines, brainstorm or get written and verbal feedback on a draft, or develop an effective writing routine.

Graduate Writing Advisors

At the Academic Success Centre, our professional writing advisors work one-on-one with graduate students to help them revise course papers, articles for publication, thesis chapters, grant applications, and some specialized career documents. Graduate students should book an appointment by emailing write@ualberta.ca.

Writing Cafés for Graduate Students

Are you looking to establish a regular writing routine? Our virtual writing cafés help graduate students dedicate time to writing in a supportive communal setting. Each café is oriented around goal setting, a brief check-in, or a small exercise before a sustained period of writing. If you are interested in joining one of our cafés, please email write@ualberta.ca for more information.

Writing Workshops

ASC group workshops are designed to teach you new skills that you can apply directly to your academic work. We offer writing workshops for undergraduate and graduate students. Workshops are free for current U of A students. Our workshops focus on different aspects of university-level writing. You can register via campusBridge.

Academic Copy Editing

Our Academic Copy Editing (ACE) service provides copy-editing services at competitive rates for theses, books, articles for publication, grant applications, reports, and career documents. We work with graduate students, post-docs, faculty, and administrators. Our skilled, experienced ACE staff can help make final-stage documents submission-ready by correcting sentence structure, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
