Curious about what career opportunities lie beyond Edmonton? The Alberta School of Business organizes a three-day Career Trek to Toronto, giving students the chance to visit leading organizations and explore career paths in the financial sector.
This trek provides a unique opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world professional environments. Students gain firsthand insight into industry trends, company cultures, and potential career trajectories—while building valuable connections along the way.

The Toronto Career Trek is open to both MBA and Undergraduate BCom students. This trek is focused on the Finance sector only.

Registration for 2026/27 will open on September 21, 2026.

The deadline for Fall 2026 is TBD.
- Submit your application using the Career Trek Google Form.
- Submit a letter of intent. In 250 words or less describe how the Career Trek aligns with your interests and career aspirations.
- Submit your up to date unofficial transcript.
- Submit a one page resume - Note that the selected candidates resumes may be sent to the participating employers ahead of time only if requested by the organization.
The adjudication committee places strong emphasis on the thoughtfulness and quality of your application. Your Letter of Intent, previous experiences, and interest in specific sectors help us determine how well the Trek aligns with your goals—and how we can ensure it's a valuable experience for you. We carefully review each application to select students who will not only benefit from the opportunity, but also aim to contribute meaningfully to discussions, actively engage with host organizations, and represent the University of Alberta with professionalism and curiosity.
The Toronto Career Trek has a participation fee of $200. The Toronto Career Trek includes airfare, hotel, a networking dinner, and transportation around the city.
