Coaching is recognized as an invaluable tool for developing individuals to reach their true potential and research supports that self-awareness is one of the key components of successful leaders of today.
Our certified coaches are your personal thought partners and bring to the career conversation a breadth of experience as they guide you in the discovery of your own brand and career direction by using personal assessments, meaningful conversations, and providing tactical advice. By engaging in the process, you will courageously learn about yourself, what the world of work means to you, and your position in it.
Career Services and the coaching models are unique to the Masters' programs and are customized to meet the needs of the student groups they serve. Full-time students benefit from a robust coaching program that includes allocated coaching hours with their own assigned coach and two courses that focus on self-awareness and tactical job search strategies to help students navigate a career pivot. The part-time and specialty masters programs also have coaching and customized programming. The Executive MBA program has six dedicated Executive Coaches who are experts in their field and can provide guidance on topics such as work/life balance and starting your own business.

Through candid conversations, expert guests, and practical advice, the podcast helps listeners better understand themselves, navigate today's evolving job market, and build meaningful, fulfilling careers.
At the start of your program, all students are enrolled in BUS 501 with access to Canvas, the U of A’s learning management system. The course serves as an Master's orientation and covers topics related to career management and team building.

The Hub is your go-to space for career resources throughout your MBA. Whether updating your resume, preparing for interviews, or exploring next steps, it’s designed to save you time and keep you moving forward. You’ll gain access once enrolled in the MBA program.
campusBRIDGE
campusBRIDGE is a platform for events, services, and job postings to support career growth and your job search. All current Master's students have access, with limited access available after graduation.
Part-time students have a full-day orientation. This day introduces you to the academic program, student services such as career management and coaching, and student groups and leadership. In the afternoon, you'll participate in activities to express your career story and engage with your cohort.
Students can build connections with the Alberta MBA community through Speaker Series, alumni networking events, and other opportunities to connect with MBA alumni, current students, and the broader business community.
Students can also benefit from the experience of our alumni through mentorship opportunities, case competitions, networking events, and opportunities to hear directly from MBA graduates about their careers and professional experiences.
After graduation, stay connected with the MBA community through the UAlberta MBA Alumni LinkedIn group and events offered in partnership with the Business Alumni Association.
Meet Our Master's Coaches
Paul Taylor - Paul leads MBA Career Coaching and Education, bringing 20 years of career development and career management experience as an ICF Certified Coach (ACC) and Registered Professional Recruiter (RPR). He teaches two full-time MBA courses: one helping students understand themselves including their values, strengths, and emotional intelligence. The other equipping them with the tactical tools to land a job, from resumes and cover letters to relationship building and LinkedIn. He also coaches soccer and basketball, is a lifelong student of the golf course, and never says no to a new pair of Jordans.
Tiffany Baker - Tiffany is a chartered HR professional, PCC Certified Coach, and MBA Career Coach and Educator with the Alberta School of Business. Her 15-year HR journey crosses multiple sectors, including private, public, not-for-profit, and academic, and encompasses a broad scope of leadership roles in HR operations, HR communications, and employee support. And she even takes her coaching out on the road in women's road cycling and mountain bike coaching.
Justin Pritchard – Justin is a National Certified Career Development Professional (CCDP), MBA Career Coach, and educator who has worked in career services since 2011. His career includes roles as a Graduate Career Advisor, Career Coach, Coaching Team Lead, and Employability Skills Instructor. He’s led a transition program, taught 20+ design courses at the U of A, and continues to teach at MacEwan University. A lifelong learner, Justin holds graduate degrees and enjoys café hopping, mindfulness meditation, and time with his fluffy cat Mocha.
