Faculty + Staff Sessions

Do you need help guiding students through their Professional Development (PD) Requirement? The Faculty of Graduate & Postdoctoral Studies (GPS) is offering a two-part orientation series for faculty and staff.

Part 1: PD Requirement Orientation Information

The first part of this series will guide you through the requirement. We’ll provide an overview of the Individual Development Plan (IDP), explain what does and doesn’t count for the required eight hours of professional development activities, and discuss the role faculty and staff play in helping students meet the requirement.

  • Next Session: TBA

Part 2: How to Review a Student's IDP

During the second part of the series, you will hear from faculty who have reviewed the IDP with students. By learning about their experiences, you’ll better understand how to best execute the review process with your own students. We recommend you attend a PD Requirement Orientation Information session before this session.

  • Next Session: TBA

For more information, please see the links under the PD requirement on our resources pages for supervisors and graduate coordinators.
