Find what moves you in our FREE recreation trial classes from September 11 to 15. These trial classes are open to students, staff and community members.
Join us outside in the Main Quad for our big Rec Crawl event on Monday, September 11th (10:00am - 3:00pm) where you can participate in an array of fun activities and get your passport for your chance to win some big prizes like a one month free parking voucher, a U of A bookstore giftcard or an IPad! Play lawn games and volleyball, or checkout out the inflatable climbing wall or challenge a friend to some extreme basketball.

Yoga Strong
Enjoy a yoga class that stretches you out and increases your cardiovascular fitness gradually. Class will start with a 10 minute full body warm up, followed by a 20 minute mix of strength and cardio movements. This class is appropriate for all fitness levels as you get to choose your own adventure! Class ends with a 20 minute yoga sequence to release, breath and balance.

Classes provide challenging workouts which discipline the mind, strengthen the body, and improve self-confidence. Techniques are based on kicks, punches and blocks, as well as flexibility and cardiovascular exercise, and are taught in a disciplined, fun environment.

Yoga Rest & Decompress
Be reminded of the thoughtful reflective nature of your yoga practice while you slough off the debris of the week. Let your instructor guide you toward balance and restoration while encouraging self-care. This class may include more "Yin" postures which is a wonderful complement to other yoga and exercise formats as it provides energetic as well as meditative benefits. 1001 Nights...Scheherezad's Dance...Dance of the Seven Veils. Hollywood has its version of Belly Dance, but we would love to teach you the real thing!
Learn all of the sultry, feminine hip sways, undulations, and snake arms of the real Egyptian and North American bellydancers! In this low-intensity, strength-building class, you will:
- Learn all of the basics, from hip lifts to shimmies and be introduced to Middle Eastern rhythms and artists
- Put your dance steps to practice in combos and follow-the-leader exercises (and maybe a little veil work)
- Learn one or more hot and exciting choreographies to wow your friends! Your hips won't lie after this class, they'll thank you for it!
