The Faculty of Nursing Continuing Professional Education (CPE) office is developing a wide range of professional education programs that will be available for current and prospective students, as well as working nurses interested in receiving non-credit online courses and modules to further their education.

Non-credit courses are self-directed learning allowing students to work at their own pace.

What Nurses Need to Know About Cannabis

In a national survey conducted by the Canadian Nurses Association, 9 out of 10 people supported the idea that nurses should be key educators on cannabis use. However, it also showed that less than one-third of nurses felt knowledgeable about providing patient education on cannabis and its use. This raises concerns because all of us are likely to interact with patients using cannabis. This course will give you the opportunity to address the question of what nurses need to know about cannabis education.
